Bright & Fun Mt. Airy Portrait Session

Amy was such a delight to photograph! I’ve had the wonderful opportunity of knowing, and working with this beautiful, sweet young lady. She has big goals, and plans for her future such as hopefully attending college in Wilmington, NC with one of her best friends. For her shoot we wanted to showcase her bright, and fun personality so I took her to this charming little garden that is hidden behind a building called, “The Blue House Art Gallery”. From there we hopped in my car, and headed downtown to finish the rest of her session. I may or may not have found some white, fluffy flowers that I couldn’t pass up!

Romantic Mt. Airy Summer Session

This beautiful, romantic downtown Mt. Airy session still has me all heart eyes. As soon as Abi, and Omar arrived I knew this session was going to be very chill, and full of golden hour cuddles. I remember Omar telling me how him, and Abi met, and I feel like my little business had some very, small part in them being together.

Abi had added Omar on Instagram, not long after she had a session with me, he started to inquire about her, and the rest is history. Every time I see an Instagram post of these two I start swooning, and I hope that you do too after seeing these images.

The Importance of Professional Head Shots

Hello sweet friends! I recently had the wonderful opportunity to work with Hope Taylor Photography in Richmond, VA on some brand new head-shots for my business. If you didn’t hear, or see my Instagram in May, I have recently made several changes to my brand, and wanted head-shots to complete the new look. Caleb Gerber Downtown Mount Airy Head Shot Session

Caleb is such a talented theater performer, and I have been so blessed to call him friend, and photograph his head-shot session before he heads off to Western Carolina University to pursue his passion for acting. I remember when I had an opportunity to train him at our local day job, Chick-fil-a of Mount Airy. He was very easy going, laid back, and made everyone around him feel at ease. He had told me that night we trained he was in a play called, “The Sound of Music”,  he asked me if I wanted to see it, and being a huge fan of the musical I said, “Of course I do!”

How To Be A Business Owner While Overcoming Anxiety, Or Depression

Hello friends! If you are checking to see if you read the title wrong, I promise, you didn’t. This is something I kept feeling a pressing to write on, so I pray you find this helpful in your life.

How can you run a business while dealing with anxiety, or depression?

I’m writing from a place of personal experience, and it’s hard, but not impossible. Most people deal with a minor form of anxiety, but still accomplish their goals, and lead a pretty active social life. As for me, it got to a point where I was trapped inside my house, and felt panicked if I tried to do anything different outside of hiding behind my computer working (i.e: “Working” on Facebook, “Working” on my website, “Working” on projects). I wanted to look busy so that nobody knew what was really happening, so often my statuses would result in, “I’m “working” on something”. Whats even worse is that I felt trapped inside myself. I wanted to be pro-active, I wasn’t a lazy person, I knew how to work hard, but I felt so paralyzed to do anything. During this time period, I was essentially jobless, broke, lost a few friends during that hard season of life, and that’s when depression hit, and it hit hard.

Stephanie Camino Bakery Lifestyle Session

Hello friends! I am so excited to bring you Stephanie’s shoot from Saturday. She is such a joy to not only photography, but just to be around. We started out our afternoon with a quick stop by Starbucks, then on to downtown Winston. We stumbled on the local food truck festival that was happening, but then I quickly made things adventurous. I won’t go into details, but it may or may not have involved me going down a one way street. Thank the Lord, nothing was coming at the time, but as soon as we parked the car we could not stop laughing.

Should You Request An Unplugged Wedding?

Hello friends! You have probably heard this word floating around on the Pinterest boards you have been staring at for hours, or heard it somewhere on Facebook, but are not too sure what an unplugged wedding really is.

An unplugged wedding is where you ask friends or family to place their phones in a basket, or a designated place during the wedding ceremony, or in most cases the entire wedding. The idea is for all wedding guests to be present, instead of looking at their phone screens.

So how do you determine what’s right for you?
