Mabry Mill Blueridge Parkway Senior Session

You may have seen Karlie, in a few posts last year when she modeled for a styled session with me. Today, I am so excited to bring you her senior session, and though she may be small, she has the biggest heart, and sweetest smile. We wanted to choose a location that fits her personality so well, she loves anything country, all the colors of fall, and wanted to get her boyfriend, Nick into a few of these too. Mabry Mill in Virginia was the perfect location, not only does it embrace all things country, but has that romantic feel too. The forecast that day called for clear skies, when I was 2 miles away from the shoot location, everything was covered in thick, thick fog, and misting. At first, I admit, I had a mini-panic, but quickly became excited at what we could create with this weather.

Why Should You Plan Your Wedding With Your Photographer?

Hi friends! Remember last week when I did Planning Your Engagement Session: The Guide (If not then go read that first, and come back here)? Well, here’s the planning your wedding portion of that post. As I stated in the last post, planning a wedding is no easy task. You have to think of a million, and one things all at once. There is picking out a florist, choosing a venue, choosing a hair-stylist, and make-up artist, deciding what type of wedding dress suits you, helping brides-maids pick out their dresses, etc. The list goes on, and on.

Matthews 26th Birthday Cookout || Personal

For those of you who may be new, and may not know I have one younger brother named Matthew. He’s 3 years younger than I am, and on August 27th, 2017 he turned 26 years old. He’s a very quiet, and shy individual so we had a low-key cookout with just family, and we had so much fun. We had his favorite type of cake, chocolate with chocolate icing, and vanilla ice cream(you thought I was going to say chocolate didn’t you?).  I hope that you enjoy some of these highlights.

Bright, & Airy Sunflower Field Session || Dewberry Farm

Dewberry Farm is the sweetest little event venue tucked into the heart of Kernersville, North Carolina. Once you arrive on the property you see the sunflower field on your right, along with their beautiful horses roaming around in the field next to it, and then the manor itself is just beautiful! I had the privilege of speaking with Wendi Johnson, one of the owners of the property before we arrived, and she was so accommodating. Since the property involves a lot of walking, she let us use one of the golf carts to ride from location to location.

Honeybook: Why It’s The Best Tool For Any Creative.

Hi friends! Today I would like to tell you about, what I think, is the best management tool for any creative, and that is Honeybook. I first heard about Honeybook through a creative group I’m apart of called, “The Rising Tide Society”. At the time I was with a different company when I decided to give this a try, and didn’t really think it would make too much of a difference, but boy was I wrong.

This platform is so easy to use, just look. When I open my dashboard(aka my pipeline), I can see all upcoming shoots that I have, and see where I am on each one. In this example, you can see I have 2 that are in the planning stages. This means, they have already signed their proposal that I sent over, and followed through with their payment plan. As we get closer to each shoot date it will just move along the pipeline, and once it’s done I simply archive it in-case I need to pull it back up later.

Prudence McCabes Confections Downtown Mount Airy

I have had the enormous pleasure of meeting, working, and collaborating with Sue Heckman this year. This beautiful woman is the owner of, ‘Prudence McCabes Confections’ in Downtown Mount Airy, North Carolina. She literally is as sweet as the chocolate confections that she makes. She runs the business with her husband, and has done so for about 5 years now. My favorite is a double dark chocolate treat called, “The Fix”, and ladies, yes this was made for you in mind, for that once a month sweets craving. Sue is partnering with me to make some amazing confections for all of my 2017-2018 high school seniors, and couples that book with me. For now, I hope you enjoy these product shots, and head-shots of this amazing woman, and her business.

Bright & Fun Mt. Airy Portrait Session

Amy was such a delight to photograph! I’ve had the wonderful opportunity of knowing, and working with this beautiful, sweet young lady. She has big goals, and plans for her future such as hopefully attending college in Wilmington, NC with one of her best friends. For her shoot we wanted to showcase her bright, and fun personality so I took her to this charming little garden that is hidden behind a building called, “The Blue House Art Gallery”. From there we hopped in my car, and headed downtown to finish the rest of her session. I may or may not have found some white, fluffy flowers that I couldn’t pass up!

Romantic Mt. Airy Summer Session

This beautiful, romantic downtown Mt. Airy session still has me all heart eyes. As soon as Abi, and Omar arrived I knew this session was going to be very chill, and full of golden hour cuddles. I remember Omar telling me how him, and Abi met, and I feel like my little business had some very, small part in them being together.

Abi had added Omar on Instagram, not long after she had a session with me, he started to inquire about her, and the rest is history. Every time I see an Instagram post of these two I start swooning, and I hope that you do too after seeing these images.
