Vintage Barn Events Wedding || Whittier North Carolina

Hello friends! Being a traveling photographer has it’s perks, such as shooting at this beautiful venue, Vintage Barn Events. I had the privilege to work with Ruby Peoples Photography once again on this wedding, and I met a few new amazing vendors such as Jennifer from Green Mountain Weddings. The bride & groom, Tyler and Kayla, and their entire bridal party were so welcoming, and so funny to work with. I hope that you enjoy this peek into their big special day.

How To Be A Business Owner While Overcoming Anxiety, Or Depression

Hello friends! If you are checking to see if you read the title wrong, I promise, you didn’t. This is something I kept feeling a pressing to write on, so I pray you find this helpful in your life.

How can you run a business while dealing with anxiety, or depression?

I’m writing from a place of personal experience, and it’s hard, but not impossible. Most people deal with a minor form of anxiety, but still accomplish their goals, and lead a pretty active social life. As for me, it got to a point where I was trapped inside my house, and felt panicked if I tried to do anything different outside of hiding behind my computer working (i.e: “Working” on Facebook, “Working” on my website, “Working” on projects). I wanted to look busy so that nobody knew what was really happening, so often my statuses would result in, “I’m “working” on something”. Whats even worse is that I felt trapped inside myself. I wanted to be pro-active, I wasn’t a lazy person, I knew how to work hard, but I felt so paralyzed to do anything. During this time period, I was essentially jobless, broke, lost a few friends during that hard season of life, and that’s when depression hit, and it hit hard.

Lindsey and Brit were such were so much fun to work with, as well as their entire wedding party. Everyone was so laid back throughout the whole day. I hope that you enjoy these images from a second shooters perspective, and make sure you visit Ruby Peoples Photography too. She is a wonderful photographer, and such a sweet person to work with.

Stephanie Camino Bakery Lifestyle Session

Hello friends! I am so excited to bring you Stephanie’s shoot from Saturday. She is such a joy to not only photography, but just to be around. We started out our afternoon with a quick stop by Starbucks, then on to downtown Winston. We stumbled on the local food truck festival that was happening, but then I quickly made things adventurous. I won’t go into details, but it may or may not have involved me going down a one way street. Thank the Lord, nothing was coming at the time, but as soon as we parked the car we could not stop laughing.

Should You Request An Unplugged Wedding?

Hello friends! You have probably heard this word floating around on the Pinterest boards you have been staring at for hours, or heard it somewhere on Facebook, but are not too sure what an unplugged wedding really is.

An unplugged wedding is where you ask friends or family to place their phones in a basket, or a designated place during the wedding ceremony, or in most cases the entire wedding. The idea is for all wedding guests to be present, instead of looking at their phone screens.

So how do you determine what’s right for you?

Downtown Mount Airy North Carolina Portrait Session || Calle Fulton

Hello friends! I am so excited to bring Calle’s downtown session to you today. We started in an unconventional place for our shoot, then we branched out into the main street of Mount Airy searching for white, fluffy flowers. I just enjoyed talking with Calle, and getting to know her even more. I found out that she loves the small town life, and has big dreams for her future. I am so excited to see where those dreams take you girl!

I hope that you enjoy this session as much as I do.

5 Ways to Relax, and Free Your Mind

Last year the to-do lists became bigger, and bigger by the day. I found myself being like a hermit crab, and staying in my leggings, over-sized sweaters, and fuzzy socks, working until late in the night. After I did this for a while, I found myself getting burnt out, and not taking care of myself at all. Does any of this sound familiar to my fellow, creative entrepreneurs out there? So at the beginning of this year I promised that I would take better care of myself. I started with getting a schedule together in my business, and adding in times to stop working. For me this is really hard, because my brain has a tendency to keep going, and going, and going, and it’s hard to shut off the work brain.

2016: A Year in Review Part II

To continue this post from the previous blog post, which you can find here, 2016 had a few more things to throw at me before it was over. As I mentioned in the last blog post, my personal life started taking a turn for the worse. I found myself very lost, confused, hurt, and scared for what the future held. I ended up asking God questions that I never thought I would find myself asking Him, and even being just a little bit angry. I asked Him, “Why, why is this happening?”, and “What did I do to have all this pain, and rejection in my life? Do you know what’s so great about God though? He still loved me through it all. No matter what questions I had, or even if I had gotten a little bit angry, He still loved me, and gave me the answers I needed. It wasn’t always what I wanted to hear, but it was the truth I needed to get back on track, and headed in the right direction.
